The Lamborghini Urus is
a true performance model, but how fast is the Lamborghini Urus? We’ll show you
as we look at its specs, its acceleration times, and even its top speed in
relation to other Lamborghini models like the Huracan EVO and the Aventador SVJ.
What gives the Lamborghini Urus fast
acceleration?
The Urus can get going
really quick, and it owes its performance to the low-end torque provided by its
ridiculous engine. The 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 can not only pump out 650
horsepower, which helps it get to its top speed, but it generates 627
pound-feet of torque at an RPM range of 2,250 to 4,500. This means you have
torque available to launch you off the line almost instantly.
In addition, the 8-speed
transmission ensures that you have a low enough gear to get that torque to the
road from a stop. With 8-speeds and fast shifting technology, you can keep
putting that torque to the road as you go faster and faster.
How fast can the Urus accelerate compared to
other Lamborghini models?
The Urus can go from
0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds which is ridiculous for something
that is the size of an SUV. For comparison, the new Huracan EVO and the
Aventador S both manage the same feat in 2.9 seconds. The Aventador SVJ is a
little more insane with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 2.8 seconds.
What about faster? The
Urus is still putting up impressive numbers with a 12.8-second 0-124 mph (0-200
km/h) time. For comparison, the Huracan EVO, Aventador S, and Aventador SVJ can
each achieves this feat in 9.0 seconds, 8.8 seconds, and 8.6 seconds
respectively.
What is the top speed of the Urus compared to
other Lamborghini models?
With all that horsepower
and a weight of just 4,185 pounds, it’s unsurprising that the Urus can reach a
top speed of 189.5 mph (305 km/h). This
is approaching the level of Lamborghini supercars like the Huracan EVO,
Aventador S and Aventador SVJ can get up to 202 mph (325 km/h), 217 mph (350
km/h), and “over” 217 mph (350 km/h) respectively.
